Canada Tops the World!


Canadians rank first in the world when it comes to Internet usage, spending an average of 45 hours per month online. Canadians also spend more for broadband speed than 19 other internet-using countries.

These are just a couple of facts pulled from the Canadian Internet Registration Authority’s new 2013.CA Factbook, a compendium of research and data about the global domain name industry and .CA’s place therein. It also provides a glimpse into the state of the Internet in Canada.
“I believe that Canadians will find the information within the Factbook revealing,” says CIRA’s president and CEO, Byron Holland. “From the increasing consumption of media content online to the continued growth of .CA, the Factbook provides a snapshot of an Internet landscape in Canada and around the world that is constantly evolving.”

According to the Factbook, 49% of Canadians strongly prefer .ca versus 17% for .com for business; per viewer, Canada leads the world in viewing online video; and during the last five years, global registrations for domain names were up 70 per cent to almost 240 million domains online.

The site also reveals that Canada’s internet economy accounted for 3% of Canada’s Gross Domestic Product in 2012, totaling $49 billion. And while it’s expected to grow 7.4% per year through 2016, it still falls short of the G20 GDP average of more than 4%.

So the Question I have for You is how are you going to make these facts benefit you?

In real terms there is such an opportunity out there to interact and make money with your own people, instead of trying to get buyers in far flung countries.

You don’t want your hard work to go to waste. The longer your eBook goes without any purchases, the less effective it will be. Before you upload your eBook to Amazon or begin self-distributing it, make sure you know how to market your eBook.
Create Landing Pages for Your eBook 
Create targeted landing pages to entice visitors to want to purchase your eBook. These landing pages should target a specific demographic, which is why you should create more than one. Focus on a demographic and write as if you’re writing directly to your target audience.

Create a PPC Campaign for Your eBook

How to Promote Your Products with Demonstration Videos


Entrepreneurs can always benefit from new ways to promote their products or services. You have many options at your disposal. You could start an email marketing campaign. You could write blog posts. You could spend money on advertising.
Another option is to create demonstration videos. These videos are intended to showcase the main features of your product or service. They can be used for anything that you’re selling. This includes everything from computer software to healthcare products.
If you’re looking for ways to build a larger customer base and promote your products, then learn how to create your own demonstration videos.
Choose a Method for Recording Video
The very first thing you must do before creating a demonstration video is to decide on a method for recording video. Your demonstration video needs to show your product or service being used.
For a physical product or service, you’ll want to film your video. You can use an HD video camera, which is available at fairly affordable prices. For computer software or a mobile app, you can use screen capture software to record video of your software in use.
Your audio will be recorded separately. This lets you focus on the features of your product or service, without trying to get your dialog correct in every take.
Outline the Main Features of Your Product or Service
Next, create an outline of the main features of your product or service. What do you want to showcase in your video? After creating your list, rank the importance of these features. Later on, you may need to cut one of these features from your video.
Create a Rough Draft of Your Script
After creating your list of features, create a rough draft of your script. Start by introducing yourself or your business. Explain what viewers are about to see. Then, highlight the key points of each feature that you’re going to showcase.
Film Your Initial Video Footage
Using your script as a general outline, film your initial video footage. Either use screen capture software or a real camera to record your product being used. You don’t need one continuous shot. Focus on one or two video clips per feature.
After recording your video, compile it using video editing software. Computers often have at least one free video editing program. But, you can find plenty of other options online.
Record Your Audio for the Demo
You’ll also need audio. After compiling your video, let it play in the background while you record your audio. You can divide your lines into separate sections, as you did with your video footage.
Add your audio clips to your video footage. This will take some practice. You may have to spend some time adjusting the placement of the audio and your video clips until it all comes together. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect.
Tweak and Edit Your Video Until You’re Satisfied
After recording your video, compiling it into one video, and adding your audio, start tweaking your video. Take as much time as you want to edit the video. Sometimes, it’s hard to picture how it’ll all come together until you begin editing in your video editing software.
Get started with your first demo video. Highlight the main features of your product. If you need a few examples, simply perform a search online for “product demonstration video”. Once your video is completed, you can post your video to YouTube, share it on social media, and use it in your marketing materials.

Improve Your Email Marketing with a Marketing Funnel

The idea of a funnel is used to illustrate the process a potential client goes
through as they become familiar with your products or services.
Visually, clients enter the funnel at the widest part, the top, then proceed to descend, stage by stage, leaving at the level they lose interest.  What you end up with at the bottom are the final few who have purchased and love your product or service.  These are the clients that will keep coming back
Your goal is to raise the number of potential clients that enter the top and lower the number that loses interest at each stage.

To accomplish this, you will need to have a conversion tactic for each stage.
There are a few different Funnel maps out there that vary in their vocabulary but each basically means the same thing, for the sake of this article, we’ll go with the following terms:
     
  • Awareness
  •  
  • Interest
  •  
  • Conversion
  •  
  • Loyalty
  •  
  • Advocacy

Using Email Marketing to Get a Client All the Way to the Bottom
Now that you understand how a marketing funnel works, let’s discuss email marketing plans for each.

Awareness
The top of your marketing funnel is awareness.  This is when the potential client finds out you exist but doesn’t know anything about your product yet. At this level, you should start showing them the value of your product or service.  This can be done with free informative content, such as a free eBook on product related subjects.

Interest
At this level, potential clients are starting to show an interest in your company and products and want to know more.
You also know more about the client, which allows you to send them more targeted content that can relate how your product or services can help them.  This email could include specific items that you believe will be beneficial to them and even include an invitation to a free consultation or demonstration.

Conversion
Now you potential client is aware of the value of your product or service and it’s time for them to decide if they are ready to purchase.
Here, you start communicating to the client why your product and service is better than your competitors’ and perfect for them.

Loyalty

You could even create a version of your initial email sent to the Awareness level that they can forward to friends and family they think would most benefit from your products or services.

Now you have the information you need to plan your own email campaign and begin to channel your potential clients all the way to being actual clients.
By developing your email strategy with the marketing funnel in mind, you’ll convert more prospects into customers and more customers into fans, which means more money for your business. Yay!
