Additional Ways to Utilize Your Keyword Research to Boost Sales
Keyword research is a necessary part of online marketing. In fact, you may spend hours researching keywords and deciding which ones to target. You’ll use these keywords in your content, marketing material, and advertisements. Though, these aren’t the only uses for your keyword research.
Keyword Research is a Type of Customer Research
When you perform keyword research, you’re also performing customer research. You’re finding out what your potential customers are interested in. This will give you a general idea of the types of topics that you should be discussing in your blogs and eBooks.
Looking at the terms that people use gives insight into their interests. So, not only will use these keywords in your content, you can mine these keywords for topics.
Find Content to Curate and Share on Social Media
You can use your keyword research to help with content curation. Content curation should comprise about 80% of your social media marketing. This includes articles and news from outside sources that you think your followers will enjoy.
Entering your chosen keywords into Facebook or Twitter will help cut down on the time that you spend finding curated content.
Improve Your Existing Content with New Keywords
Use your latest keyword research to update your existing content. If you have blog posts that haven’t been viewed in months, then give the posts an update. Add additional content, more information, and new details. Then, optimize your updated posts with your latest keyword research.
Find Frequently Asked Questions That You Can Answer
When you perform keyword research, pay attention to the keyword suggestions that are phrased in the form of a question. These queries show that people are searching for an answer to these questions.
Take these keyword phrases and perform your own search. You should be able to find forums, communities, and websites where people have asked these exact questions.
Offer your input and give an answer. This helps you establish yourself as a voice of authority in your field while providing another use for these keywords.
Learn How People Search for Your Products or Services
As mentioned, your keyword research is a type of customer research. One of the things that you’ll learn is how people search for your products or services. You might find that they commonly use terms that you wouldn’t normally use.
For example, if you sell running shoes, you might find that people are more likely to search for running sneakers.
By looking at the most common search terms, you gain insight into the language used by your customers. These small nuances can be useful in creating marketing material that connects and engages.
Find Ideas for Future Products or Services
During your keyword research, you may come across search terms that you haven’t thought of. This could provide ideas for future products or services.
Using running shoes as an example, you might find that people also search for shoelaces for running shoes. If you hadn’t previously sold shoelaces, you now have an idea for your next product.
The bottom line is that keyword research can be used for so much more than just optimizing your web pages and advertisements. You can perform customer research, improve your content, and develop ideas for new products or services.
Maximize your marketing potential by making better use of your keyword research.

Creative Lead Generation
Lead generation is a vitally important part of a digital marketing strategy. If you don’t have leads, people don’t get your emails. Emails generate sales, foster public relations, and give you a place to talk to your customer.
Having leads for those emails is a must.
People are more apt to share their emails with you if they feel like they are getting something of genuine value by sharing them. Here are a few creative ways to capture leads that convert.
Use success stories
Odds are that you have at least a few success stories from thought leaders in your industry. Reach out to them and interview them. Turn that interview into a webinar, podcast, or articles.
A conversation with a thought leader about how they became successful is a compelling and valuable piece of content. When you share this content, lead lock it. People who really want to see the content will be more than happy to give you their email in exchange for advice from a thought leader.
Make “Help” videos
Making help videos is another great way to capture leads. If there is a problem that you see a large number of people who use your service having, such as “how do I create a Facebook page” or something of the like, make a video solving the problem.
Not only do these videos provide useful information for your clients, they can also help you gather new customers and clients by helping them solve their problem.
For the best payoff from help videos, create an education center page on your website with a few videos. Have people provide their email address to sign-up and use the free education center. This gives you valuable leads that can turn into new customers.
Embrace the quiz trend
Quizzes are big right now. They are all over social media and have started to creep into display ads and email inboxes. Use the quiz trend to your advantage.
Quizzes, especially when they are created well, are a great lead generation driver. People love learning what kind of flower they are or which celebrity they act like the most. Usually, the more outlandish the quiz, the better.
Quizzes are also great to push out on social media for some new engagement and boosted traffic and likes on your company’s page. Use the power of the quiz for all it’s worth and it will deliver a host of great results.
Give insight into what’s working for you
Have something you are doing that is working really well for you? Talk about it! Host a webinar about it or write a blog or whitepaper. People want to know what works for others and they are more than willing to exchange their email for that information.
Be an information provider and people will start to look to you as an authority. Consider using the pieces as a lead generation ad on Facebook and test the response.
Host a giveaway
Giveaways are one of the easiest and frankly the best ways to gather leads. When you create a great giveaway, people will happily give you their email address for a chance to win.
Giveaways do require some careful consideration when you are using them for lead generation though. You have to be prepared that some people who enter the giveaway may have little to no interest in your company and won’t be good leads.
That being said, giveaways are still a great lead generation tool and can give you a ton of leads in a short amount of time. This is especially true if you use social media to promote the giveaway.

Easy Solutions to Help Boost Your Email Open Rates
If you use email marketing, then you understand the importance of email open rates. Only a portion of the people that you send emails to will actually open the email.
You don’t need to rethink your entire email marketing strategy. With a little bit of tweaking, you can learn how to improve your email open rates.
Your Subject Line Needs to Be Short
Your subject line should contain no more than 8 words. If the subject line is too long, it’ll take too long to read, which will result in lower open rates.
Keeping the subject line short also forces you to strip away unnecessary words. You’re forced to create a clear, direct message with your subject line.
Leave the Recipient Wanting More
While you should be direct with your subject line, you also don’t want to give everything away. The email recipient should want to read more. Leave a little bit of mystery to the subject.
For example, you might state, “Your best online marketing tips are ready.”
With this subject line, the reader knows that the email will contain marketing tips or a link to tips. But, they don’t know much else. This is easy to do. Typically, you just need to cut your headline in half.
A full headline might’ve read, “Discover the best online marketing tips for increasing conversion rates.”
By removing the last half of the headline, and personalizing the beginning, you’re left with a short, effective subject line.
Use Alliteration in Your Subject Lines
Alliteration is the repeated occurrence of the same letter. It makes headlines, titles, and subject lines stand out. They’re more fun to read and more likely to result in an opened email.
Using the previous example, “More marketing tips to help you make money.”
The repetition of the same letter draws your eye to the subject line. When you’re scrolling through multiple emails in your inbox, this small difference can have a big impact on whether or not you open an email.
Use Second-Person Narrative
You should craft your subject lines using second-person narrative. The words that you’re reading right now are written in the second person. This is the use of “you” and “your” in your subject line and copy.
Second-person narrative is a little more personable than third-person, where there is no pronoun. Look at the following two examples:
- Your best online marketing tips are ready
- The best online marketing tips are ready
Basically, you need to include “you” somewhere in your subject line.
Always Test Multiple Subject Lines
You should always test two separate subject lines when you send out a round of emails. A/B split testing allows you to compare two variations of the same email. You can look at the results and easily see which subject line worked best.
Every time you check these results, make a note of the difference between the two subject lines. This will help you learn what works and what doesn’t.
Crafting effective subject lines requires practice.
You won’t always get the results that you want. Remember to test multiple subject lines, keep them short, and speak to your reader.

Increasing Sales Leads by Boosting Twitter User Engagement
Twitter is an effective platform for entrepreneurs that want to reach out and increase their online presence. But, these efforts don’t provide a lot of help if you can’t engage your followers.
If you want to boost engagement, then take a moment to review these simple tips.
Shorten Your URL Links
Every entrepreneur should use a web-based program to shorten their URL links. Studies show that shorter URLs receive more clicks.
The programs that generate these shorter URLs also typically provide a method for tracking these links. You can see how many people followed the shortened URL.
Use Images in Your Tweets
Tweets that contain images receive more clicks and more retweets. If possible, all your tweets should contain an image.
If you’re sharing a link to a landing page or a web page that you own, you should set up Twitter cards. This allows Twitter to pull the featured image from your page and place it in the tweet.
You can also upload photos for each tweet. It’s time-consuming, but it can help you get more retweets, clicks, and new followers.
Ask People to Retweet Your Tweets
Sometimes you just need to ask people to do exactly what you want them to do. Ask people to retweet your tweets.
Including “RT” in your tweet can help you gain 10 times as many retweets. On average, including the word “retweet” in your tweet will result in 23 times as many re-tweets.
This only takes up a few characters of the space that you have available. Give it a try. Add “RT” to the end of all tweets moving forward.
Include Actionable Words in Your Tweet
Along with asking people to retweet your tweets, you should include actionable words. You may not have enough space to include a full call to action, but you can use actionable words to increase engagement. Examples of actionable words include:
- Download
- Free trial
- Subscribe
- Learn more
- Read now
- Gain access
Engage Your Twitter Followers
You should also drive engagement by being more engaging. You can include questions in your tweets, to encourage people to respond. This drive engagement and could result in more followers.
If you haven’t already, you should set Twitter to send email notifications when you receive a new message and when your Twitter tag is mentioned in another tweet.
You should respond to questions and comments as soon as possible. Even if the comment is unrelated to the products or services that you sell, you need to be active on social media. Respond when people talk to you.
Tweet Late at Night
The final tip for increasing user engagement on Twitter is to tweet late at night. These late-night tweets obtain about 10 times as many retweets as similar tweets sent during the day.
If you go to bed early, you can use a social media management platform to automate the release of your tweets and social media posts.
In the end, using Twitter to increase your online exposure depends more on quality than quantity.
The number of followers that you have is less important than how engaged your followers are.
Focus on engagement by responding to tweets, asking questions, and using these other tips. Increasing your Twitter user engagement will help you boost the number of followers that you’ve got, along with helping to increase traffic from Twitter to your website.

How to Grow Your YouTube Following
The use of video marketing is becoming increasingly popular for entrepreneurs. The reason is simple. More people are using mobile devices and the videos are easier to view on these devices than reading a lengthy blog post.
With more followers, your videos are more likely to get noticed. Here are several steps that you can take right now to begin growing your YouTube following.
Increase the Value of Your Videos
The first step is to increase the value of your videos. People won’t share videos that don’t provide any real value. You can’t just create a video introducing your business and hope to get thousands of views.
Each video needs to have a specific focus. It’s much like writing a quality blog post. In fact, you can recycle your most popular blog content into videos.
Whenever you write a script for a video, always ask yourself if you’d share this video with others. The video needs to offer some benefit to the viewer. You can provide instructions, demonstrations, or tips related to a specific topic.
Remain Consistent with Your Release Schedule
YouTube offers video recommendations based on what you’ve already watched. If you remain consistent with your release schedule, you’re more likely to gain new subscribers.
If a viewer watches one of your videos without following, YouTube may recommend another your new videos as they’re released. This helps bring viewers back to your channel.
Whether you release one or four new videos each month, you should stick to a schedule. Decide which day of the week you’ll release your videos. Subscribers will know when to check back and your viewer retention rates will increase.
Ask People to Subscribe to Your Channel
Your videos should serve a specific purpose. As with your blog articles, the end of the video should include a call to action. You could tell viewers to follow a link or you can use this call to action to remind viewers to subscribe.
YouTube also provides the option to include an image or graphic to act as a clickable button overlay directly on top of your video. With this clickable button, you can include a link to subscribe to your YouTube channel.
Include a YouTube Widget on Your Website
You should also add a widget or link on your website that connects with your YouTube channel. Increase exposure to your channel by adding these features to your blog or business site.
If you use WordPress, you can find numerous widgets and plugins that allow you to add YouTube videos to your site. You could also add a YouTube subscribe button on your site.
Become a Featured YouTube Channel
You have the option to add “Featured Channels” to your YouTube channel. These are channels that you follow and recommend your followers to follow.
By getting these other channels to recommend you to their followers, you can boost exposure. There are two ways to go about this.
You can either directly ask a channel to add you or you can start following them. There is no guarantee that the other channel will follow you, but it’s still worth the effort.
Interact with People That Comment on Your Videos
You shouldn’t ignore the comments on your videos. Actively respond to these comments. People may leave a comment without following. After responding, they might rethink their decision and start following your channel.
Increasing your YouTube following is one method for improving your online presence. If you’d like to gain access to more internet marketing tips, and a way to generate new sales leads, then click here to learn about my done-for-you system.

How to Best Promote Your Sales Promotions
What is a Sales Promotion?
When done correctly, sales promotions can transform a business. Most of us these days know sales promotions are usually designed to increase sales or, encourage the use of a service. They are also often one type of marketing strategy confused with general advertising. In fact, the two are different. Because, each entices a different part of the buyer’s nature.
Advertising is emotional in nature. It induces consumers to purchase products or services through images, sounds, and experiences. Sales promotions draw on a customer’s logic.
To get the most out of the efforts you put into creating a promotion, it’s important for you to promote your sales promotion. I know, that’s a lot of use of the base word promote, it’s confusing, but accurate.
Promoting Your Promotion
This concept is often where many small businesses and entrepreneurs come up short and, usually happened in one of two ways.
The first way is that many businesses simply don’t let their customers and potential customers know there is promotion opportunity going on.
When it comes to small business marketing, the first thought is advertising, but this can add expense. Here are some optimal ways you can get the word out, without breaking the bank.
- Highlight the promotion on your website home page.
- Create a web page specifically about the promotion.
- Post the info on your Social Media Pages and Blogs.
- Where permitted, include it in guest posts on other pages and blogs.
- Sent email notifications sent out to your approved email contacts.
The second way many businesses aren’t successful with their promotions is that they, get the word out but, put out the wrong information.
Your first instinct will probably be to make your message about your offer, and that is a good place to start. But, your message should also be about your customer. More specifically, how they will benefit from the offer you’ve taken so much time to plan and execute.
Let’s say an accounting firm decides to run a discount promotion on all services they provide, for a specific period of time. To promote this, they start sending emails and posting on Facebook that for a limited time, clients can come in and receive a discount for any service they need. Most people will see the post or email, make a quick mental note about it, and then move on with their day.
The communication aspect was successful, but the desired conversion wasn’t. What you need to do next is persuade your client that this will make his or her life easier.
Persuasion begins with building a link into your customer’s head. Start by thinking about your service promotion from your customer’s viewpoint. Then make a list of the things that may be on your customer’s mind. Some examples could be, whether or not their job is currently stable, whether they should buy a new car or even, where they are planning their next vacation.
No matter what they have in their heads, there is a good chance they are not thinking about seeing an accountant. It’s your job to put the idea in their head and then, attach it to the things they are thinking about:
“Want to fly during your next vacation instead of drive? Let us help you find your maximum deductions and use your larger tax refund to start a vacation fund!”
Next, go on to explain the benefits of having a professional go over their taxes instead of doing them at home.
Last, include an effective call to action: “Call now for your appointment!”
Now that you know how to promote your promotion, take a look at this article on ThriveHive.com for examples of what kind of promotions you can consider offering.

What is a Sales Promotion?
When selling a product, marketing usually comes fairly easy. Your marketing campaign revolves around the product for sale and how it can be used.
When you own a service-based business, the marketing may require a different approach. Instead of marketing product features, you have to market yourself and your team. The good news is, people are always looking for reliable services, no matter the type. You just need to make sure they find you and not your competitors. Here are some techniques that will help you accomplish this.
Connect with Your Own Community
Established local businesses have their own clientele. And, they may only be able to handle a certain number of clients. So, if you treat these businesses respectfully, they may refer clients to you when they are at their capacity. A good way to connect with your community is to be involved with the local Rotary Club or Chamber of Commerce. These associations will connect you with other businesses that welcome assistance from a peer.
Use Social Media and Networking
By now you’ve probably created your business website. Now, you need to consider establishing your presence on Social Media. Starting with each of the following will give you a strong foothold:
- Facebook Business Page
- Twitter Account
- LinkedIn profile
As you cultivate this audience, you will build a following that will continue to reach more and more people over time.
Offer Incentives
Customers like to take advantage of a good deal. Special promotions are a great way to let them. While a promotion might cut into your profits initially if it brings in new customers the payoff could be worth it. You need to make sure you find a balance between your pricing needs and your customer’s idea of a good deal. You can even utilize your Social Media presence to promote your incentives without extra cost to you.
Empower Your Clients
Often with services, the service providers have so much control over how the service is provided, this can sometimes cause a feeling of detachment for the clients. To prevent this separation, try to make your clients feel involved in the process by underlining their significance in the process and reducing the visible influence of your own position.
Stock Up on Business Cards
Even within the Digital Age, business cards are still a valuable tool, especially if you are an individual or small business. You can network with other local businesses, asking if you can leave a stack of cards in their lobbies. You can also pass them out to other business owners at networking events, social engagements, and class reunions. They can also be passed from customer to customer the way word-of-mouth advertising is accomplished. These days you can even get your first set the same day by taking advantage of in-store printers, like the ones found at Staples and Office Depot.
In the long run, the success of your business will depend on the quality of your services. Here we’ve provided a few easy ways to get your marketing and your service-based business off the ground and increase your ability to communicate what you have to offer to a potential client.
For more ideas on how to market your service business check out this post at the wix.com blog:

Free Book
This groundbreaking new book reveals how to transform your life and earn an income using the HTAM method (high ticket affiliate marketing).
Shares Don’t Equal Successful Content
Whenever you create content, you probably want it to get shared with a lot of people. After all, shares mean that people have engaged and that your content must be amazing.
Actually, this isn’t the case.
Ideally, your content gains both shares and links. That makes your content valuable and boosts your authority on search engines and social networks. This is called amplification.
A good amplification strategy makes the difference between a good digital marketer and a great digital marketer. This article will help you develop the tools to create a great amplification strategy to take your content to the next level.
Why have an amplification strategy
Having a good amplification strategy means that your content will be seen by a large number of people who will perform the action you want them to. Social platform shares don’t mean anything unless people are performing the type of engagement with your content that you want.
Now it takes more than just publishing your content to get people to react to it and act on it. You have to have an amplification strategy to take it to the next level. A good amplification strategy will get your content to the right people at the right time who will perform the right action with it.
A social sharing doesn’t equal amplification strategy
If you want to build an amplification strategy, you need to go beyond social shares. Social platforms are powerful discovery tools but their amplification strategy benefits are minimal. There are too many amplification limitations to social sharing to make it a proper amplification strategy.
This is because, more often than not, shared links aren’t clicked, shared content is frequently not read by the sharer, social shares have a short shelf life, and sharing goes down after a few days. This makes social sharing minimally beneficial when it comes to amplification. Sure, it can work sometimes, but it often doesn’t work.
Lots of shares doesn’t mean lots of likes
People share and like content for different reasons. For example, people share content when they find something entertaining, when they want to foster a personal relationship, when they want to show that they support a cause, when they want to share helpful content, and when they want to show that they are part of the tribe.
People like content when they view it as an authority, they support the content, the content is unlikely to change, and/or the content serves as a helpful guide. Something is shared and liked when the content is valuable and helpful. That’s the area you want your content to live.
Getting shares and likes
There are a few ways that you can get your content to get shares and likes:
- Answer a common question that people have regarding your area of expertise
- State strong and/or controversial opinions
- Post original research and data you have collected yourself
- Develop a real amplification strategy
That last point is where you, as a digital marketer, need to focus. You need to develop an amplification strategy and here is how you do it.
Developing an amplification strategy
A good amplification strategy uses five main tactics: manual promotion, target mailings, influencer advocacy, link building and SEO, and paid promotion. Each of these tactics helps you build a real amplification strategy.
Each business uses these differently, so it is best to get together with your web and marketing team and come up with a way to make all those tactics work for you.
If you are looking for a way to build and amplification strategy for your business, take a look at my Done For You system HERE today.
